Description

Effective and economical slug protection for your flower garden or vegetable patch. Specially designed to help control slug populations, this reusable and weatherproof slug trap works through the combined action of two separate chambers.

  • The inner chamber contains a mixture of dry yeast and sugar. When exposed to moisture in the air, the mixture slowly begins to ferment, producing a scent that attracts slugs.
  • The outer chamber holds widely available and highly effective iron phosphate pellets (such as Ferramol, Ironmax, and similar products). After feeding on the pellets, slugs stop feeding and leave the area, seeking a sheltered place to die.

Why choose the slug trap?

The trap solves the two biggest problems with scattering pellets directly across the lawn:

  • Slug pellets are highly effective against slugs, but because they are made — in addition to iron(III) phosphate — from ordinary wheat flour and attractants, they quickly soften and break down when exposed to rain and morning dew. The trap’s enclosed design protects the pellets from moisture, sunlight, wind, and birds. As a result, the bait stays protected for much longer and remains significantly more effective.
  • High cost. A single treatment of 1,000 m² uses 1,500–2,500 g of pellets when spread across the lawn as directed. With slug traps, the same area requires 10× fewer pellets per refill, and the pellets remain effective for significantly longer.

Safer for pets and birds

The trap’s enclosed design makes the pellets less accessible to curious pets and birds. The whole trapos anchored firmly to the ground using the supplied peg, so that birds or wind cannot tip the trap over or blow the lid off.

The trap is designed and made in Estonia from durable plastic that withstands mechanical wear, UV exposure and the weather.
